Emily isn't your run-of-the-mill photographer who is led by chasing money and sees commercial photography as the easiest way to do that. Emily comes from a background of Content Creation & Influencing on Social Media where she was getting paid by Brands to make photographic content. Although she felt some disconnect as she prefers to shop with local and small brands, this is when it hit her to open Anchor Away Photography and provide her community with Brand Photography.

Emily knows running a business is a ton of work that is constantly pulling you in every direction. She's a small business owner herself, a one-woman show who is also a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend who thought being an entrepreneur would give her the flexibility she needed for her life.
Quickly realizing that entrepreneurship is a lot more hours than her former corporate career, she's been determined to set boundaries and define success in her own way. Anchors Away only accepts a limited number of clients a month, allowing Emily to give each client a clear focus without being just another business in the queue and to avoid burnout.
